What are Targeting Parameters?

Targeting parameters are available at the campaign level to help you reach an audience in the required location, using a specific device, browser, or domain, and to target specific publishers.

Location-Based Targeting

In location targeting, you can show your ad in certain geographic areas as per your business needs. You can target your ads for specific Zip Codes, DMAs, Cities, States, Countries.

For example, an advertiser based in New Jersey delivers services only in the Tri-state area. In that case, the advertiser can set up their targeting to allow their ads to only be served in the Tri-state area.

To serve ads in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut advertisers can target these locations.

Device-Based Targeting

Device filtering is used to target the ads for specific devices. There are three main categories Desktop, Smartphone, and Tablet.

These types are then divided into subcategories based on the operating system they work on.

If an app showcasing the services provided by a business is available on the iOS app store, the advertiser can target ads to iOS.

Browser-Based Targeting

Browser Filtering allows you to target ads for people using a specific browser. You can include or exclude the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Internet Explorer
  • Internet Edge
  • Safari
  • Others

Publisher ID Based Targeting

Advertisers have an option to target a particular set of Publisher IDs for a campaign or an ad group.

After you create a new campaign, the system will start serving your ads on different publisher domains. You can generate a report to identify the best performing PIDs and then target those PIDs by using PID Based Targeting.

For example, if you identify that PID A and PID B are performing better than other PIDs in the network, then in such a case, you can update the campaign and target those specific PIDs only.

You can include or exclude PID, SPID, and SSPID.

Domain-based Targeting

If you want to include or exclude a domain where you want to serve your ads, then you can use the Domain-based Targeting feature.

For example, an advertiser in a healthcare-based business wants to show their ads on www.webmd.com and other healthcare-related domains only, then they can target the domains where their ads should appear.

Note: We recommend blacklisting the domains or PIDs that you don’t want your ad to be displayed on. Ads will serve on the targeted network except for those blocked PIDs or domains. Whitelisting specific domains or PIDs will restrict your traffic to those specific domains and PIDs.
