What are Audience Segments?

Segmentation is dividing the audience of website visitors into logical groups. In our system, you can create audience segments and use these segments to retarget the audience.

For example, if you have a campaign and a user has clicked or performed any action on your ad, you can segment such a user and then retarget them by serving ads relevant to them.

We support the following types of audience segments:

  • First Party Segments: These are the groups of users that have shown interest in your product by performing certain actions that have been captured due to a pixel fire. The system automatically generates a segment when an event pixel is fired.
  • Third-Party Segments: Third-Party Segments are the available segments provided by a third-party vendor.
  • Custom Audience: A Custom Audience is a combination of First-party and Third-Party Segments. You can target an audience that has both first and third-party segments and can also map it to multiple campaigns.
